ERLANGER, Ky. (July 24, 2012) – Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. (TMMC) announced today that it will invest more than $100 million and hire approximately 400 team members to increase Lexus production at its Cambridge, Ontario facility. Overall Lexus capacity will increase by 30,000 vehicles to 104,000 units, including 15,000 RX450h vehicles, the hybrid electric version of the popular Lexus.

Toyota is targeting early 2014 for expanded Lexus production. “This is a big and ambitious project with new technology, exacting standards and tight timelines,” said TMMC President, Brian Krinock. “Our team members have demonstrated time and time again that they thrive on these kinds of challenges.”

TMMC currently manufactures the Toyota Corolla, Matrix, RAV4, RAV4 EV models and the Lexus RX model in plants located in Cambridge, ON and Woodstock, ON. The company currently employs approximately 6,500.

“The team members at TMMC have shown tremendous dedication to creating high-quality Lexus vehicles,” said Mark Templin, Lexus General Manager. “With rising demand for our RX 450h hybrids, moving that production to an award-winning North American plant is great news for Lexus. We look forward to partnering with TMMC to continue the tradition of manufacturing outstanding RX luxury utility vehicles.”

Today’s announcement is the latest in a string of Toyota North American production increase announcements since February at plants in Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama and the second in Canada. Cumulative investment total is approximately $745 million and more than 1,500 jobs are being added.

"This Lexus production increase, and the several announcements before it, reflects our growing optimism for an improving North American market and our intent to localize more production," said Steve St. Angelo, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.

Cappi, thank you for these generous and kind reviews! We appreciate it!

"Since my 2005 Toyota has been stalling out on the freeways since 4-2-12, Patrick has been there for me. He is caring and gets the job done. Patrick has gone way past "the call of duty" in regards to sticking by me during these scary episodes with my car. Many thanks, Patrick, for your compassion, help, and friendship. Cappi Duncan

Thank you Paul Smith for taking the time to meet with my daughter, Dixie, and myself regarding the months long problems with my 2005 Toyota Corolla stalling out on the freeway.

You have helped so very much by answering ALL of my questions in an honest, straight forward manner. It was obvious that you take my ongoing situation very seriously and are very concerned for my safety and the safety of others when I drive my car and that you are willing to do WHATEVER it takes to solve the problem.

Thank you for the fair way you handled the cost to me on the work that was done over the months, it is very much appreciated.

Will I recommend Toyota of Redlands to my family and friends? Absolutely I will!

Again, many, many thanks for your help and the pledge that you will be there for me no matter what occurs in the future with my car.
Sincerely,

Cappi Duncan"

James, thank you for this fantastic review!

"Went to this dealership to buy a used car, based on recommendations from friends who have bought cars here previously. I was very pleased with the customer service and honesty of the salesperson that greeted us, Jason Ho.

I ended up choosing a well-used 2005 Toyota Avalon that was in very good shape, then we proceeded to negotiations which were quick and straight forward. Mr. Ho went to his manager for approval and we closed the deal.

A couple of days following my purchase I found an oil leak that was covered in a "Technical Service Bulletin" and I called and talked to the service department about it, thinking they might work with me a bit on the price, since this was an "AS-IS" purchase. I am so happy now that I did buy from this dealer because they agreed to do the work at a very substantial discount, and they even offered a couple of 'extras' along with it, thanks to Mark Wyant (service and parts director).

They have done everything possible to show me their great level of courtesy and respect for the customer and they have a very happy customer in me. I will definitely continue to do business with them in the future!

Thank you Toyota of Redlands!"

Thank you for such awesome feedback!

"I first got in contact with your dealership through your website at http://toyotaofredlands.com. It looks like the site is current and is well maintained. Once I submitted my request for more information I received an email reply from Dyana Mace almost immediately. She followed up with a call the next day and we scheduled a time for me to check out the Tacoma I had an eye on.

The car was waiting for me to test drive when I got there. Caroline Amaya helped me out from there and was very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the vehicle. She was very professional, courteous, friendly and efficient. It was honestly a joy to work with her through each stage of the process.

Janelle Hall finished up with the financing. She was also extremely helpful in making me understand which options were in my best interest and those which weren't.

Overall one of the best auto buying experiences I've had."

Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Gets Royal Treatment in Europe

MONACO — The first production Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid in Europe was delivered to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, as the Japanese automaker employs some royal cachet to market the car.

The prince will use the Prius Plug-in Hybrid for "private purposes," said Toyota in a statement. The prince has a two-month loan on the car from Toyota, which notes that he currently has a standard Prius in his automotive stable.

Prince Albert may be Toyota's best unofficial salesman in Europe. A one-off Landaulet edition of the Lexus LS 600h hybrid took center stage at his 2011 wedding to Charlene Wittstock.

Of course, with the handover of the keys to the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, Monaco also gets to strengthen its position as one of the green leaders in Europe. Even though the principality is just 48 acres with a population of 35,000, it is also home to 424 free charging stations.

The link between European royalty and cars is a strong one. Witness the media frenzy that ensued after England's Prince William and commoner Kate Middleton celebrated their nuptials last year with a joyride in an Aston Martin DB6 Volante.
